Marney Industries Corporation (MIC) conducted a Waterproofing Presentation Workshop with Archipelago Builders Corporation on September 25, 2026, providing an in-depth introduction to Marney’s company profile, construction capabilities, and specialized waterproofing solutions.
The workshop began with an overview of Marney Industries Corporation, a company established in 1998 and a provider of building and construction materials sourced from leading manufacturers worldwide. Over the years, Marney has expanded its expertise beyond construction materials to offer a range of construction solutions, including swimming pools, hardscapes, fit-outs, steel works, waterproofing, tents, and other general construction services.
Highlighting Marney’s Waterproofing Expertise
The main focus of the workshop was Marney’s waterproofing specialization, introducing the different systems and solutions available for various construction applications.
The presentation covered several major types of waterproofing, including TPO/PVC, Polyurea, Polyurethane, Bituminous Membrane, Crystalline Waterproofing, and Flexible Cementitious Waterproofing.

Among the solutions discussed was TPO/PVC waterproofing, particularly its application for flat and low-slope roofs, roof decks, terraces, balconies, green roofs, and other roofing systems requiring UV and weather resistance. The presentation highlighted features such as heat-weldable seams, flexibility, puncture and tear resistance, solar reflectivity, and long service life.
The workshop also explored Polyurea waterproofing, a high-performance, seamless membrane known for its rapid curing, flexibility, durability, and resistance to mechanical and chemical stresses. Its applications presented during the workshop included roofing, flooring and car parks, bridge decks, tanks, retaining walls, foundations, green roofs, swimming pools, and other waterproofing and containment structures.
For Polyurethane waterproofing, Marney discussed its use for exterior concrete and plywood, below-grade applications, balconies, planter boxes, parking garages, podiums, green roofs, and swimming pools. The system was presented as a flexible, seamless coating designed to provide waterproof protection across various surfaces.
The presentation further covered Bituminous Membrane systems, including APP and SBS types, which are applicable to roofs, roof decks, basements, foundations, podiums, terraces, balconies, wet areas, planter boxes, water tanks, reservoirs, and infrastructure works.

Solutions for Wet Areas and Structural Protection
Marney also introduced Flexible Cementitious Waterproofing, particularly suited for water tanks, reservoirs, planter boxes, bathrooms, showers, balconies, terraces, swimming pools, and other areas requiring waterproof protection before tiling or surface finishing. Its features include flexibility, crack-bridging capability, brushable application, and water-vapor permeability.
Another solution discussed was Crystalline Waterproofing, which works through the formation of crystals within water-bearing capillaries and interstices of concrete to block water passage. The system can be used for applications including water tanks, reservoirs, retaining walls, foundations, lift shafts, bridge decks, and other concrete structures.
Beyond product types, the workshop also emphasized the importance of proper application and substrate preparation. Depending on the waterproofing system, the presentation covered processes such as substrate inspection and preparation, priming, membrane or coating application, seam and overlap treatment, top-coat application, curing, and flood testing.
Showcasing Marney’s Waterproofing Track Record
To further demonstrate its experience, Marney presented several completed and ongoing waterproofing projects, including World Commerce Place, Discovery Prime Boracay, One Campus Place, Crimson Boracay Resort & Spa, Coast Residences, Venice Corporate Center, Eastwood Mall, One World Square, One Techno Place, Two Fintech Place, One World Place, Techno Plaza One Building, Science Hub Tower, Viento at Cerca Tower 3, E-Commerce Plaza, Glorietta, and SouthWoods Mall Office Tower.
The workshop with Archipelago Builders Corporation provided an opportunity for Marney to share its technical knowledge and demonstrate its capability to provide waterproofing solutions tailored to different project requirements.
Through sessions such as this, Marney Industries Corporation continues to strengthen its commitment to quality, technical expertise, and customer-focused construction solutions. By combining reliable materials, specialized waterproofing systems, and proper application methods, Marney aims to help clients achieve structures that are protected, durable, and built for long-term performance.
